German Skillet Dinner
Serves 4
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup chopped onions
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 cup rice
- 16 ozs. tomato sauce
- 16 ozs. sauerkraut
- 1/2 teaspoon caraway seeds
- 1 cup water
Directions
Brown ground beef in butter in a 10 inch skillet. When meat
begins to turn color, add onion, salt and pepper. Saute until
meat is well browned. Stir in rice, tomato sauce, sauerkraut,
caraway seeds and water. Bring to a boil; reduce heat. Cover.
Simmer for 25 minutes or until rice is tender.
