Meat & Cabbage Casserole
Serves 4
Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
- 1 cup shredded carrots
- 3 cups shredded cabbage
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 jar herb style spaghetti sauce, 16 ozs.
- 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon chopped chives
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
Directions
In a medium skillet, saute onion in butter until soft. Add
ground beef and brown. In a 2 quart baking dish, layer carrots
and half the cabbage. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Add meat
mixture and press down lightly. Add remaining cabbage and press
down lightly. Add worcestershire and chives to spaghetti sauce
and pour over cabbage. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for about 1
hour until cabbage is soft. Remove cover, sprinkle with grated
cheese and bake uncovered until cheese melts and lightly browned.
About 5 minutes.
