Garlic Basil Green Beans
Serves 6
Ingredients
- 1 pound green beans, steam until tender
- 1/2 cup chicken stock
- 2 teaspoons chopped basil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 dash hot pepper sauce, or more
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
Directions
While beans are cooking, combine remaining ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, simmer 2-3 minutes or until thickened. Arrange beans in a dish and cover with sauce. Variations: Use broccoli, peas or zucchini. Sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds on top. Add a squeeze of lemon juice.
