Chicken Breasts Marengo

Ingredients
- 4 whole chicken breasts
- salt and pepper
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 onions -- medium, sliced thin
- 1 clove garlic clove -- mashed
- 1 can canned tomatoes -- (8 oz.)
- 1/2 tablespoon paprika
- 3/4 cup white wine -- or chicken broth
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
Wash chicken breasts and wipe dry. Sprinkle with salt and
pepper. Saute in butter until golden brown on both sides.
Remove from skillet. In same skillet, saute onions and garlic
until tender. Add tomatoes. Chop tomatoes while cooking and
cook until mushy. Return breasts to skillet. Sprinkle with
paprika. Pour in wine, cover and simmer for 15 minutes. Add
more wine if necessary. Add mushrooms to mixture and cook
another 7 minutes.
